CIVICS organized this one-day conference in 2018 in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Management of the University of Patras.
The conference was the result of a joint effort to put for the first time in an open public debate in the region of Western Greece, the object of the transition to a more circular form of economy.
Circular economy is characterized by the saving of resources and energy, the preservation in use and reuse of products and the avoidance of waste, along with collective action in the direction of changing production and consumption patterns.
The conference was attended by staff from academic institutions, researchers, industry representatives, social enterprises, environmental groups, chambers, local authorities, non-governmental organizations, political analysts as well as many students and citizens.
